Consistent program delivery

We just renewed our school site license, third time now. Always a smooth process. The digital entrepreneurship tools are a real hit with the students, makes it easier for them to get started. Build keeps things reliable, which is why we keep coming back.

Mentor program experience

I volunteered for the student mentorship program last year, it was a pretty good experience overall. The onboarding for mentors was thorough, took about a week to get all the materials. My student was working on a small business idea and the career readiness modules helped them a lot. Communication with the BUILD team was responsive, usually got replies within a day or so. The only minor point was the initial platform for scheduling, it was a bit clunky to navigate at first, but once you got the hang of it, it was fine. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to help out.

Thinking of donating during year-end. Is it really tax deductible like they say? Just want to make sure before I transfer a chunk of change.

Yeah, totally. They're a legit 501c3 non-profit. I got a receipt last year that worked fine for my taxes.

Can confirm, my accountant said it's all good. They send you something for your records, usually after the new year.

My school is looking into entrepreneurship programs. How does BUILD compare to Junior Achievement, or like, DECA? Is it worth going with them?

N Noor A. 4 months ago
I think BUILD focuses more on actually launching student businesses, which is pretty cool. JA is good too but maybe a bit more structured classroom stuff, less real-world application perhaps?

My kid did BUILD and loved it, they actually started a little T-shirt business. From what I've heard from friends with kids in DECA, it's more competition-focused than actual business building. Kind of depends on what your school wants, I guess.
